To fight of the challenges of rapid growth in subscribers and their mobility behavior puts China Unicom under considerable pressure on network performance and have to rely heavily on efficient network planning provided by Groundhog Technologies. |
| Groundhog’ Mobility Based Optimization services have been implemented this March 2010. After the optimization project the Inter-MSC handover was reduced by 20.23% and Inter-BSC handover was reduced by 10.49%. The immediate benefit is to lower the MSC/BSC CPU Utilization Rate, shorten Average Handover Process Rate, improving Handover Success Rate and also reducing the call drops due to handover failure. Furthermore, it increased the Call Setup Success Rate, Traffic Volume, and positively enhances the customer satisfaction. |
| The reduction of redundant signaling and CPU loading of equipments has released more resources for call request, SMS service and etc. The financial benefit for China Unicom is to minimize the overall Capital and Operational Expenditures. Groundhog’s solution increased the network efficiency which allows China Unicom to focus its resources for other challenges. |
| The project result and benefits have achieved more than 90% accuracy of Groundhog’s prediction in its original proposal to China Unicom.
